When I turned on my TiVo this morning, I got a message that I had finally received my TiVoToGo update. Now I can transfer programs over my wireless network from the TiVo to my computer. I can store them there and if I get a DVD burner down the road, I can burn them onto a DVD. At this point, I've essentially upped my storage capacity by about 20G including the amount on my HD on my computer. I can take the laptop on trips, etc. with downloaded TiVo shows and watch them anywhere. How cool is that?!

It looks like it'll take about 20 minutes to transfer a 30-minute program. That's not too bad. I can set it up to do a whole bunch of them while I'm asleep or at work. I'm excited about that.

The TiVo Desktop application on my computer that "talks" to the TiVo also lets me access music and picture files from my computer on my TiVo for slideshows and music listening through the stereo attached to the TiVo.

This is all very invigorating!
