Well...I visited the endo yesterday. Everything seems to be in order. He made some slight adjustments to my basal rates and that was it. He said I was doing really well and I'll go see him in a month.

Between Monday and when I saw the endo on Thursday, I was keeping meticulous records. Every morsel of food was accounted for in my logbook. When I got to the doc on Thursday, he didn't even ask to see it! He told me that I didn't really need to keep one unless I wanted to.

I'm spending tonight and most of the day tomorrow with my brothers and parents. I guess I just needed a change of scenery.

My ordination council will be Monday, February 21. I'm a little anxious about it. I don't want to look too much like an idiot.

Well...I think you're up to date!

The pump has been great! A little tweaking will need to be done when I visit my endo on Thursday, but other than that, life is good!

I've been very impressed with the BG results I've been getting. Part of the 30 hours of success may be that I've been pretty diligent about counting carbs and measuring every little morsel I eat. I hope that will help my endo make the proper corrections.

Everything else in life is going pretty well. Still making preparations for the ordination council on Monday and service on the following Sunday. There's still a lot to do!

Today was pump start day. The training lasted about two hours. My pump trainer told me I may have been the most prepared she'd had before. I thought I had just followed the instructions for preparation, but I guess I was more than just prepared.

We went through a lot of material in a relatively short amount of time. I feel like I have a grasp of most of what's going on with the pump (especially since it's life and death).

I think some of my settings will need to be tweaked when I go back to the doctor on Thursday. I'll also be interested to see my after-meal numbers as well as in the morning tomorrow. I'm also supposed to check my BG at 12:00am, 3:00am, and 7:00am for the first few days.

I'll continue to update my pump happenings as well as the rest of what's going on.

Pump update: tomorrow's the big day! I will officially be dependent on a machine tomorrow. It's kind of exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time.

I'm skipping then evening and morning doses of Lantus and giving correction shots until I get hooked up at 11:00am tomorrow.

I hope I don't forget anything!

We had church this morning. Contemporary and traditional services were followed by a church conference. Pretty standard...no big ordeals to speak of.

Other than the life-changing events of getting an insulin pump, this week should be pretty normal.
