When I turned on my TiVo this morning, I got a message that I had finally received my TiVoToGo update. Now I can transfer programs over my wireless network from the TiVo to my computer. I can store them there and if I get a DVD burner down the road, I can burn them onto a DVD. At this point, I've essentially upped my storage capacity by about 20G including the amount on my HD on my computer. I can take the laptop on trips, etc. with downloaded TiVo shows and watch them anywhere. How cool is that?!

It looks like it'll take about 20 minutes to transfer a 30-minute program. That's not too bad. I can set it up to do a whole bunch of them while I'm asleep or at work. I'm excited about that.

The TiVo Desktop application on my computer that "talks" to the TiVo also lets me access music and picture files from my computer on my TiVo for slideshows and music listening through the stereo attached to the TiVo.

This is all very invigorating!

I know....it's been a while.

It's been quite busy around here lately...

Pump update: my pump educator called me Monday night and we talked about what I needed to do to get ready for my training on Monday (just 5 days away). I'll have to skip my nighttime and morning Lantus doses and take correction doses of Humalog if my BG's high. She also got some information from me about my Lantus doses, BG correction doses, and mealtime doses. I know that she's using that information to calculate what my settings will be. I'm also changing insulin types in this whole process. Since being diagnosed with type I diabetes in January 2002, I have been using some form of Humalog. Now I'll be using Novalog, I think because it works better with the pump. I don't know how that will change all of those doses and stuff that I had been taking.

I've also begun wearing the pump to bed to begin to get a feel for it while I'm sleeping. It doesn't seem to get in the way too much. I'm still experimenting with the best place to put it.

Tuesday was Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday), so things were a little crazy. We ended the day at church with a "Jammin' for Jesus" talent show. (I didn't give it that name!) Trivia at Wings 'n' Things that night had lots of trivia about Mardi Gras traditions and origins.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, so in addition to the usual Wednesday activities, we had an Ash Wednesday service. It was a first for me and a first for First Baptist Griffin. It was a really great time of worship, I believe. I also went to a funeral at St. George's Episcopal Church. The husband of the director of music passed away, so I thought I should be a part of that service. It was a nice service, but long: almost 1.5 hours.

My ordination service and stuff has been confirmed. I'll have the ordination council Monday, February 21 and then the service will be Sunday, February 27 (my mom's birthday coincidentally) at 6:30pm at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist in Atlanta. I'm looking forward to it.

Well...I hope to be able to update more frequently this weekend.

I guess I'm going about every four days with the "blob" thing.

So I went to the CBF of Ga State Choir rehearsal yesterday. It was lots of fun in a music nerd sort of way. I enjoyed reading through all sorts of music and being a part of an ensemble I wasn't directing. I also got the chance hang out with the fam afterward, which was an added bonus.

Today at church we did communion at the 8:45 contemporary-style service. It was a little different than the congregation was accustomed to, but it was effective. At the 11:00 traditional-style service, we had Boy Scout Sunday and Baptist World Alliance Sunday. We went a little long, but that's alright.

I'm not watching the Super Bowl. It's not worth sitting through a game that I'm not interested in to just watch the commercials.

I bought a year's supply of Energizer AAA batteries for my Minimed Paradigm 515 insulin pump. They were on sale, so I went ahead and got them.

Speaking of the pump, I'm right at one week away from getting it "installed" for the first time. It's exciting. I've got lots of questions and I know that it'll take some getting used to. I am confident that in the long run, it'll be worth the hassle.

As promised, Robbie, here's your shout-out. Thanks for the prompt response.
